"If You Smell Someone's Butt It Will Stink" - aka My Mommy-ism
I'm the mom of two extremely Boyish Boys. I mean BOYISH!! They bring home tadpoles and other creepy crawlies in their pockets, collect rocks, play in the mudd, do cartwheels, wrestle in the basement like it is the main stage of the WWF, and...they smell each other's Butts. What is That about? Then one will yell out "Your Butt Stinks" and the other says "Stop Smelling my Butt" and then I say "Look, If you smell someone's Butt.." and they Both chime in "It Will Stink!" and fall into fits of hysterical laughter, while I roll them into the tub with a clothespin on my nose.
I've said that so often, it's become one of my Mommy-isms that I'm sure they will both recite (and tell their kids) when they're all grown up. Of course it means more than just don't smell someone's butt...it really means, well, what else do you expect? A floral bouquet?? So, I even say it even when they're not smelling each other's butts..in lieu of saying "what else did you expect to happen?"
It's funny to be a Mom...saying weird things to make very real points...that kids Never forget.

My sister share her free time between my computer & the tv :(
It's hilarious to be a mom. Sometimes the stuff that comes out of my mouth is astounding!
Ya know, I appreciate that they like being outdoors and playing and...just being KIDS! They do have an XBox but it's use is restricted to Friday and Saturday nights (or any night when there is no school the next day). We don't have cable and since we live in the boondocks, that means we really have no real TV (aside from the fabulous PBS). Also, no computer at home (gasp!).
We watch family friendly DVD's, but otherwise, we try to take advantage of real family time by playing board games, coloring together and really just appreciating, enjoying and exploring life. They are my Pride and Joy...Pudge and BabyCakes xoxoxox
We LOVE Charades! We picked up a kids edition (with pictures and words) for at the Children's Museum last fall and Yes it's So heeelarious...Jeremiah (my youngest) is So Serious about it! They also love the SpongeBob SquarePants version of LIFE...which is great for younger kids.
Thanks for the compliment :-) Your boys are lucky too!
Wow, I think there's a reason God (or insert other fate-deciding entity here, let's not get into it right now, kay?) gave me girls because I think I'd faint dead away the first time they came home muddy.
They're so cute!
That's Funny! Mud is the Least of my Worries. I'm scared to go in their pockets when I tackle Mt. Washmore....
So very very scared.......
Brilliant.... :) and yes, it's great being a mum ! good on you for no net, I m lucky that Sarita does a lot of performing arts classes, she loves being outdoors, and even when indoors, we are very good friends and have a laugh, we love doing stuff together...so the net is for saturdays eve or holidays...
On the *mommy-ism*, I keep telling my mum that I can hear her, loud n clear, when I talk to Sarita.... , and your is great :)
I'm delighted to see a mum like you :)
If more of us would get our kids the time, love n laughs instead of nursing them with TV and computers....(which I have to say you see a lot here in the UK) maybe they ll inherit a better world.. :)
P.S. I've caught you via RSS for a while now and just now got back to reading through the site - something looks different, did you update your design? Regardless, it is really nice looking....
Thanks for noticing my "upgraded" blog :-) Everyone is so creative with their banners...I'm probably the only one still using Vox templates
Congrats on the New Addition!! What a Blessing! They will be able to keep each other company...I can't tell you how much That Helps...with the keeping of sanity.
This post brings back memories.
As for the keeping of the sanity...that's assuming we have any sanity left by the time the newest little one is around to occupy the other one!
Yes they are Huey...thanks :-)
