It's good you did the research...I try to stay out of any Political stuff.
But loooved the video!

True for me, I've never been to a Black Church (but from what I've seen, I like their worship too!) I have been to the Rock Church in San Diego alot..the paster is Miles Mcpherson (he used to be a San Diego Charger football player). He's awesome to listen to and right on imo!

I've had these black lady friends at work yrs ago when I first started working (at a restaurant) I loved them...Hester and Martha. Martha used to call me her Patrick.
So sweet ladies, it was so good to know them.

Pat, something told me you'd appreciate that clip. I don't like to get on my soapbox for political stuff either. However, I really want my blog to be something I can look back on in life and see the things that have transpired and affected me in someway during my lifetime. When I saw the article, I thought it was definitely worth reposting because it was something I would want to remember and also something to feed the minds of the folks I care about :-)

I'm off to go check out Pastor Miles ...

Yeah thanks!
It's great to have a good purpose for your blog, I respect that.

Politics, Religion, can make enmity between friends... the very reason I stay out of it. Though I have my political preferences, one does not have to be like minded to be my friend. And a friend I consider you :-)

They might have some of his sermons on the Rock churches website.
I havn't been there in a long time. My brother in San Diego still goes there.

While teaching in Hyannis, one of my kids invited me to her (black) church for a special music night. I am so glad I went. Not only did it ROCK, not only did it give me a new experience, it also gave me the smallest taste of what it feels like to be in the minority. The place was packed but there was only one other white person in the room. That's never happened to me before.

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
