The Very Bestest thing about Vox was meeting Michelle. Her coming into my life was actually foretold to me but I thought she was going to be a Man!! She's just been the best gift of friendship I've known and I'm honestly so Grateful for Her Life...everything Good and Bad because it laid the groundwork for her to be the Support BEAM I needed. She's become one of my Favorite Life Partners and a True Traveling Companion. I hope to one day repay her for helping me hold on to my slippery sanity.

Unexpected Enlightenment
You Never Know Who You'll Meet
Our individual journeys take us into many unexpected situations where we encounter a wide variety of people-some quite like ourselves and some very different. We cannot anticipate these meetings, but we can make the most of them when they take place. When we are courteous as a matter of course and open-minded in our assessment of the individuals whose lives briefly touch our own, we are more apt to stumble upon surprising gems of wisdom that open our eyes to new worlds of possibility. Every person we meet can affect us profoundly, just as every situation we find ourselves in can teach us something new.
To fully embrace this fact, it is essential that we acknowledge that everyone is valuable in their own way and capable of expanding our horizons. Since we never know when we will happen upon those individuals who will unveil truths before us, we should extend to all people the same generous level of kindness, care, compassion, and understanding. When we assume everyone we meet is special and treat them as such, we can develop a strong rapport quickly. By making an effort to adopt a positive attitude toward others at all times, we ensure that our emotions do not blind us to wisdom that may be lurking in difficult or distressing situations. We are accordingly receptive to knowledge that comes to us in the form of examples, advice, and direct teaching.
These brief relationships ultimately have the potential to enrich our lives in a very concrete way. But the wisdom we gain is proportional to the attention we pay to the world around us. The responsibility is on us to maintain a state of awareness that allows us to recognize when we are in the presence of someone consciously or unconsciously in possession of knowledge that will change us significantly. When we are cognizant of the potential for unexpected enlightenment, we make a habit of turning strangers into friends, thus ensuring that we are never without a font of wisdom from which to draw.
I'm not as into the Bible as I need to be. My mid and late twenties have been spent trying to find my own Religious Truth. As it is with most learning, you don't really appreciate what you're being Taught until you Want to Learn...not when you have to Learn It.
A Wonderful Compliment to be compared to Abigail - I wanted to share with other women what I've learned about her today from the WordLibrary. Be inspired.
Abigail was the wife of Nabal. Nabal was rich but quite mean and surly in his dealings whereas Abigail was intelligent and beautiful. Her intelligence and discernment saved her family from destruction
Abigail's story is a short one. David had shown kindness to her husband but Nabal was too dumb and arrogant to know it. David sent some men to Nabal to ask a favour, some food for them to eat. Nabal turned them away with an insult and no food. As David was setting out to take revenge on Nabal, Abigail hastened to meet him. With persuasive words and a gift she prevented David from taking Nabal's life.
There are many women of similar ability around today. Maybe in your home things rely on you. Or it could be your work place that people look up to you. Use your God given ability to the glory of God.
The man does not have to be the wisest person around. There are sure to be some areas that you can handle much more capably than the man or men around.
Abigail's life is a statement of fact. Wisdom belongs to us all (James 1:5). As a woman you might even find yourself in a position of leadership not by choice but simply because the other person around is not capable of doing it.
Thank God you are there to sort things out.
Bed in Summer -- R. L. Stevenson
In winter I get up at nightAnd dress by yellow candle-light.In summer quite the other way,I have to go to bed by day.I have to go to bed and seeThe birds still hopping on the tree,Or hear the grown-up people's feetStill going past me in the street. And does it not seem hard to you, When all the sky is clear and blue, And I should like so much to play, To have to go to bed by day?Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11 - Examples of Faith to Help the Discouraged

Thanks for making me remember...I found this passage a few years ago. On time then..and it's on Time now
Lust and Love
Lust and love are complete opposites, and lust often replaces love. One of love’s definitions is "unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another" (Webster’s). The Bible says, "love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NKJV).
Lust is not kind, lust envies, lust behaves rudely, lust seeks all for its own, lust thinks evil, lust rejoices in sin, lust perverts the truth, lust bears nothing outside of its own pursuit of fulfillment. Lust does not believe God or His word, and hopes only in its own gratification. Lust cares only for itself. It will hurt, deceive, destroy, lie and anything else it has to do to sustain itself.
The major difference between lust and love is that love is a selfless concern for another person, where lust is totally self-focused. Lust believes the lie Satan has crafted. The lie suggests, "If you do this thing, you will be satisfied deeply." The truth is that doing so will only lead to dissatisfaction and desire for more. Lust keeps growing and choking the person who feeds it.
The battle between lust and love is a spiritual battle. The forces of evil promote sexual lust through the internet, cable TV, magazines, erotic literature, strip clubs, adult bookstores, phone sex, advertisements, and computer games. Since lust constantly seeks fulfillment, it is almost a guaranteed moneymaker to the company or individual without scruples. By serving greed, they become instruments of evil. It may seem like a losing battle for love. But, since God is love (1 John 4:8), we know that evil and all its programs will be ultimately destroyed.
God gave mankind the perfect example of love when He allowed His son, Jesus, to be crucified for mankind (John 15:13, John 3:16). God’s awesome love fills your heart when you truly receive Jesus Christ as Lord. Amazing changes happen when His love hits your crusty heart, previously dead in sin. You receive the ability to show true love and to crucify the lusts that wage war against your soul (1 Peter 2:11).

I am a Musical Theatre Freak! I often burst into song at inappropriate moments belting out tunes from Into the Woods, Evita and Les Miz. The boys really appreciate my knack for mimicking the vocal talents of The Little Mermaid and Belle. I'm grateful that they humour me :-)
A little known musical that remains one of my absolute favorites is You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. I've only seen the animated version a million times and I remember a fellow student at AMDA singing Fly a Kite for one of our weekly performances. However, lots of community theaters and children theater groups perform the production as well. My favorite tunes from the show are: Homework (A book report on Peter Rabbit), Happiness, Fly a Kite and the Title Track.
Snoopy also has a Fantastic number called Suppertime...and it's one of the few times you ever get to hear his inner dialogue.
