"She's Like the Wind" was a 1987 hit pop/rock song performed by actor Patrick Swayze featuring Wendy Fraser.
The song was co-written by Swayze and Stacy Widelitz in 1984, originally for the soundtrack of "Grandview, USA". It was not, however, used in that film. During production of "Dirty Dancing" in 1986, Swayze played the demo for the producers and director. They loved it, and passed it on to Jimmy Ienner, the executive producer of the soundtrack. It was recorded for the soundtrack in November of 1986, with Michael Lloyd producing. The song, like the film in which it was featured, was a success, reaching #3 on Billboard Hot 100, #1 on Adult Contemporary, and was a hit around the world. It is still in circulation on radio. The soundtrack album was #1 for nineteen weeks.
